Service Projects
In addition to our fund raising activity, our members can be seen out and about in our community lending a hand to various projects.
- Salvation Army Food Drive
One of the longest standing service projects we undertake is our Magic Show Food Drive held annually in December. Club members collect non-perishable food from area grade schools, which is donated by the students and staff. Once the food is collected and loaded in trucks, we deliver the food to the Salvtion Army Food Pantry. The amount collected and delivered ranges from 8 to 13 thousand pounds. For their efforts in the schools, the children are treated to a magic show by a talented local magician. - Education Grants
Since 2005 our club has collaborated with the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation to distribute grants to our teachers in the Oshkosh Area School District, both public and private to facilitate learning in our schools. To date our club has granted over $100,000 to teachers in our area schools to fund unique programs. - IPads for Autism
Oshkosh Mid-morning Kiwanis proudly supports the Kiwanis Autism Project in the Oshkosh Region. Our club has gifted over 100 IPads to children in the area since beginning the program, and we are just getting started! If you could benefit or know someone who could benefit from this fantastic program, apply today using the application linked below: - Project Undercover
A need for appropriate under garments is often identified by school staff in the area schools. What began in one of our partner schools has now grown to every grade school in the district. Mid Morning Kiwanis secures donations to provide warm socks, underwear, and T-shirts for school age children in need. Boxes of undergarments are then deliverd to the schools by our members. When a child is identified as having a need, they are sent to the administration office where they receive a discreet brown paper bag filled with the undergarments they need.
